Earlier tonight I found myself tearing Nintendo a new one for falling through on their promise to deliver new Virtual Console titles every Monday, but it looks like I may have spoken too soon. They may have only added one game, but if you're a fan of button-mashing twitch shooters it'll be right up your alley.Super Star Soldier is the third Turbo-Grafx 16 title to surface on the Virtual Console, and like the rest it is available for 600 points. More details can be found on the games official website. |

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but as much as I've been enjoying the Wii I can't help but feel that Nintendo has really been dropping the ball lately. First it was the component cables, then it was the browser, weather and news channels not being ready for launch, then it was the nunchuk shortage - and now? Nintendo assured us only two days before the launch that we'd see Virtual Console titles hit the Shopping Channel every Monday. Well Nintendo, two Monday's have come and gone and we've yet to hear a peep. As a matter of fact, the only VC titles to appear after the launch were Bomberman '93 and Bonk's Adventure last Tuesday - two titles that were supposed to be available when the console shipped! I'm trying to be as forgiving as I can, but's let's face facts - there were very few of us in the "Wii60" category that passed on getting in a ton of face time with the new XBLA smash Small Arms this week - and considering that the Wii has only been in our home for a week, that's not a good sign. Nintendo - get off your asses and get me my Mean Bean Machine already. |

Chances are that if you grew up in the eighties, you loved the movie WarGames. What’s more is that no matter how cool just seeing the movie was, you wanted to play with Joshua. And you only had one reason for wanting to play with Joshua - you wanted to play Global Thermonuclear War. Now, thanks to Introversion, you can do just that - and it’s just as awesome as you always thought it would be. |

Wired news is running an interesting story about the sequel to The US Army's official game "America's Army" called "Future Force Company Commander". It takes place in the near future and is another tool for the Army to use to recruit people into its ranks. The game has already been downloaded over 20,000 times, but some ethical questions have been raised about what exactly is in the game.Apparently the game was built in a way to make it very hard to lose. The "good guys" military might is simply too great and just doesn't have the vulnerabilities that real life units should have. Also, the enemy never learns from it's mistakes, making it very easy to roll in and grab the easy defeat. Software company Zombie was contracted for 1.5 million to make the game, and they're simply going to make the product that the client wants. But should the US army create a recruiting tool that doesn't show a more realistic view of what they can expect in a real war situation? "They didn't ask for hole punchers," says Mark Long, co-CEO of Zombie, where the game was built under contract. "High tech has all kinds of low-tech vulnerabilities and they didn't want the vulnerabilities programmed in." It's an interesting read. |

"Girl ninjas are cool. From Tecmo's hit video game series Dead or Alive! comes fiery Kasumi, the female ninja, in her signature stance. Complete with her wakizashi blade on her back, Kasumi stands 8-inches tall and comes in window box packaging for easy display." I'm not sure what signature stance means exactly, but at least she's dressed (or maybe that's a negative to you...). They're damn cool looking though Both hot. Both deadly. Both available from Entertainment Earth. Choose your poison. Dead or Alive Kasumi Blue Dress Statue Dead or Alive Kasumi White Dress Statue |

Here's a little something to occupy your wandering mind on this Monday morning. A little flash game to start the day never hurt anyone right? The Space fighters have gotten a free ride for too long! For our entire lives the asteroids have done nothing but float through space, only for some hot-headed rookie space jock to come along and blow them all up. Well no more, this time the asteroids WILL have their revenge! It's the classic game of Asteroids we know and love but this time you play AS the asteroid, and have to crash into the ships floating by shooting at you. http://www.gamescheatcodes.co.uk/newgames/asteroidsrevenge.htm |

For some reason, Amazon is selling the collectors edition of Gears of War for the 360 for $57.99, making it over 12 dollars less than in the stores and 2 bucks less than the standard version. And the best part is that it qualifies for the free super saver shipping! It's not a perfect game but it's an excellent game and if you haven't played it yet here's the perfect excuse! The collectors edition comes in a nice metal tin, has a hardbound mini art book, and a behind the scenes DVD. Probably the best collectors edition game I've bought. Click here to take a look (and buy) |

With this Wii console skin available at Decalgirl.com. They're also selling controller skins to make the wii-mote look like the old NES controllers as well (but I couldn't find a picture of those on the site).I don't think I'd ever buy a skin for a console (the 360 faceplate is about as far as I'll go). But if I ever did buy one, it would be this one hands down. Check out the page here. |

For those out there that just can't seem to keep their hands on their Wiis (you know who you are) there's this slip-proof glove. Think of it as the short-bus of gaming perhipherals, like a rubber helmet they put on the special olympic kids so they don't hurt themselves. And while there's no cool way to sound cool and refer to Miis and Wiis, wearing this thing puts you on the express train to squaresville... population: you. But if you just have to have this, Here's where you can get it. |
