Remember when I said Xbox LIVE needs to get on the go with its Avatar games? Well, it looks as though 1 vs. 100 is coming along just fine, as evidenced by the impending launch of the Canadian Beta on May 8. I don't believe there are any details yet on how to get in on the Beta, if there's an open application process.
Via a video on Xbox LIVE, 1 vs. 100 appears to offer what Microsoft has already promised: a live videogame version of the TV gameshow featuring real players and their avatars and, perhaps most importantly, real prizes. Moreover, apparently thousands will be able to watch the proceedings live, and the video also hinted at a live host and real-time voice as well. I'd have to say, this concept looks really awesome, and I can't wait to see the results.
I also can't wait to see how they're going to handle any douchebags that decide to rip into an unrestrained string of explitives and racial slurs.
