The Top 7 Series ...run into the ground.

kamenitsa-plane-crash.jpgOver at GamesRadar they've posted a fantastic read for your morning commute, The Top 7 Series ...run into the ground. It's so good I wish I'd thought of it first. Now I'm just linking to somebody else's work like a sucker.

The list does a pretty good job of explaining where every game on the list started and how each series eventually spiraled into failure. If I were to add any one series that I felt belonged on the list, it would probably have been Mortal Kombat. Everything after MKII was a bust, and even though their eventual 3D relaunch a few years back developed a following, it's all gone downhill from there. Is there anything you'd add to the list?

Oh yeah. Sonic the Hedgehog; excellent series. Not anymore. Rush was a great game.

Mario party would be one i'd include. The first one was a lot of fun, easy to pick up.
Now they've released at least 1 per year. It's ridiculous. The worst thing about it is that it SELLS. Like the Gamecube's equivelant of Dynasty Warriors, only milked even more.

Not just for the gamecube anymore, not with part 8 coming out for the Wii...

My vote, Madden. Talk about being run into the ground year in and year out.
