A BBPS Exclusive: Two New TG16 VC Games Confirmed

I woke up this morning to find a lot of rumours floating around the blogosphere about the possibility of Alien Crush coming to the Wii's Virtual Console next Monday. Being a bit of a closet simulated pinball junkie, I just had to know more.

I went snooping around the Hudson site, and fiddled with the URL's. Not only did I find confirmation that Alien Crush was coming to the VC, but also Dungeon Explorer!

Hudson already has the pages set up for both titles. Check'em out here;

Dungeon Explorer

Alien Crush

I'd just like to note that these pages hold NO confirmation on release dates. That being said, it seems like the hints dropped by Hudson about this Monday's release combined with the discovery of this page make Alien Crush a foregone conclusion.

Dungeon Explorer is actually available on the VC in the European Wii Shop now. Not sure about Alien Crush, but I just thought I'd mention that. And it manages to support 5 players (at least one of them needs to use a Gamecube controller), too.

[...] The folks over at Bits Bytes Pixels Sprites have discovered that two new Virtual Console games, as of now unannounced, will be headed to the Wii sometime in the near future. See, in poking around Hudson Entertainment’s website, they found pages for both Alien Crush and Dungeon Explorer, mentioning their inclusion into Nintendo’s Virtual Console line of games. [...]

[...] Taking a break from watching obscure Japanese commercials, the fine fellows at Bits Bytes Pixels & Sprites recently poked their noses into the various nooks and crannies of Hudson Entertainment’s website. Along with a vague smell of bacon, they discovered the product pages for two, as yet unannounced Virtual Console games. Though there’s no mention of a release date, Alien Crush and Dungeon Explorer are both set to appear on the Wii’s TurboGrafx-16 emulator. [...]

Presumably, you also get to explore dungeons in the company of a "knome." If either of these floats your cup of nostalgia, be sure to check back with us on Monday -- there's a decent chance they'll become available then. [...]

[...] It’s a bit anticlimactic to announce Alien Crush for Nintendo’s Wii Virtual Console, since we here broke the story late last week about it’s imminent release. But here we are. There’s a few nice titles to go along with the outer space pinball awesomeness that is the Alien Crush. Here’s the full press release. [...]
