It's The Final Countdown!!With the sorta-announcement of Guitar Hero: 80's Edition came a rush of excitement and joy the likes of which I haven't experienced for a game in a long, long time. I started thinking about all the hair bands I used to listen to back in the 80's when spandex and eye liner ruled and every song was about having fun, women and booze. Every video was made up of a fake concert performance with the band on some ridiculously awesome stage totally rocking out for the cameras...or they had Tawny Kitane in them. I also started thinking about which songs I'd love to have come on the 80s edition and thought I'd make up a list (I love me some lists!). Hit the jump for my Guitar Hero: 80's Edition Dream Lineup.

Here I Go Again - Whitesnake

Nothin' But A Good Time - Poison

Wild Side - Motley Crue

Paradise City - Guns N' Roses

The Final Countdown - Europe

Youth Gone Wild - Skid Row

Master Of Puppets - Metallica

Run To The Hills - Iron Maiden

Breakin' The Law - Judas Priest

We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister

Kiss Me Deadly - Lita Ford

Round And Round - Ratt

Up All Night - Slaughter

Rock You Like A Hurricane - Scorpions

Photograph - Def Leppard

Seventeen - Winger

Panama - Van Halen

Uncle Tom's Cabin - Warrant

Breakin' The Chains - Dokken

Wanted Dead Or Alive - Bon Jovi

Caught In A Mosh - Anthrax

I'm well aware that there's a million kabillion songs that I'm missing, but these are the first ones that come to mind when I made this list. Like I said though, these are the songs that I will flip out for if they're included in the official list. Make sure to tell me in the comments what I missed.

Some of these might already be in one of the existing games, but since I don't have them (I'm waiting for the 360 version) I wouldn't know. But anyway here's what I thought of off the top of my head,

White Wedding - Billy Idol
For Those About To Rock - AC/DC
You Gave Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi
Juke Box Hero - Foreigner
Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne
Metal Health - Quiet Riot
I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister

The 80s were the golden age of Metal. Too bad its memory will forever be tainted by poser bands like Ratt, Poison and Cinderella. I don't want a GH game full of hair bands. That shit is barely music anyway.

Katana, I can't believe I forgot AC/DC and Bill Idol...oh well, that's why we have our readers!

rdaneel72, sorry chief, that's what I loved back then. Like I said, the music a whole lot of fun and they knew exactly what they were. It's all personal taste.

OK, I thought this might come up. Though my music tastes have gotten much better since this time period, Wanted Dead Or Alive was a cool song, hell, it still sort of is. The only even somewhat close to acceptable Bon Jovi comes from Slippery When Wet, and that's only because it wasn't completely clear how much they were going suck later on in life.
