Before I start, let me explain the graphic above. If you've been a regular reader you've probably read some posts by someone named "Harpua Scorpio". That's me, Kevin, nice to meet ya! Even though I live and die as "Harpua Scorpio" when I'm gaming, I wanted to start using my real name for public writing. No more hiding behind my beloved gamertag. So here I am...and you will love me...oh yes, you will love me.

Of all the writers here at The BBPS I'm the closest thing we have to a WoW addict. Now when you usually think of the type of person those words conjure know that I'm no where near that. If I need to pee while I'm playing, I get up and go. If I'm tired, I go to sleep. I play maybe a couple hours every other night, or whenever I can. There's the occasional conversation that carries over into the real world, but I'm not sitting at work dreaming of getting home in time for the latest raid. In fact, I've yet to do a raid. Hell, my highest level character is 21. It's safe to say that I'm as casual a WoW player as they come, but when it comes to this site, I'm all there is to offer.

It might be surprising to hear that I've had WoW since launch, but I've obviously haven't been playing since then. I "quit" twice and this 3rd time playing seems to be the charm. The game's intricacies and breadth are starting to make themselves apparent and seeing why so many people play this game is easy now that I've spent some time with it.

My main server that I play on is Dalaran where my characters Silasdei and Adnil live. Silasdei is a lvl 21 Night Elf Hunter who skins and leatherworks for a living. I've been playing with Silasdei for about 3-4 months now and in comparison I have a friend who started a character at the same time who's hovering around lvl 50. Like I said, I'm a casual player. Something that Silasdei has helped me learn is how to go about advancing in your chosen professions. Even though WoW is a very easy game to understand, things like this were a mystery before. It's mainly through the help and suggestions of friends that I know how to do almost anything in the game.

Adnil is my new creation that came along with the recent release of the first WoW expansion The Burning Crusade (and he is featured in the picture heading above). There are two new races of characters to create: Blood Elves and Draenei. He is a lvl 9 Draenei Shaman who has just taken up fishing, though this might change. So far I've really enjoyed playing a Shaman as you use many elements of nature in your attacks which goes along nicely with the environment-loving Draenei race.

With "Living In Azeroth" I plan on checking in somewhat weekly as I go through the motions of learning a new character and a whole new area. Think of it as a mini-blog for my experiences in this World of Warcraft from the perspective of someone who doesn't take the game so seriously, but still has fun with it. If you have any questions concerning the game or you'd like to meet up in game just leave a comment or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Hey hey hey! I've got a little-WoW in me too there boss. smilies/wink.gif

Despite the expansion being out (and in my house) I'm just not really in a WoW mood right now. It kind of comes in waves. I'll be hooked for three months, and then I won't touch it for a year.

I have a Level 48 (I think - it's been a while) Tauren Warrior on Malygos named Bruinn. After 40 though, things just really seemed to get too repetitive.

My wife however, plays six hours a day. It's a scary, scary thing. :S

Sorry Jimmy! I think I might have forgot that since you're Horde...grrrrr.

Not really, I have a low level Tauren somewhere on one of the servers. I'm really enjoying the Draenei though.

Very cool - I started a Blood Elf myself the other night, but the lag was unbearable so I gave up. I may give it another stab later in the week though. Once I get caught up with my real life. smilies/smiley.gif

I've noticed that it's much nicer during the day, at night it's not the lag that kills me, it's the overpopulation of people all needing to kill the same thing.
