Adnil's current level: 35

If you've been following this feature you know that the character on the left is me, Adnil, my Draenei Shaman. That tired night elf accompanying me? That's Revani, Dan's Night Elf Druid. Ever since Dan started playing he's been flying through the game and for much of that I was able to help. Now he's surpassed me and I'm trying to keep up frequently looking to him for help.

We'll both be online and jump into a party together and I'll say "Oh, you don't have quest so and so" and Dan will say "No, I already did that one". I should have known this was bound to happen.

In the weeks since my last entry I had my play time seriously knocked down for a couple of weeks for various reasons so the time that I have had to play I had to make count. It's been quest, quest, quest, grind, sell, rinse, repeat. With all my rested xp I've been flying through these mid 30 levels quicker than I should. This has been aided by how I've really started to learn what spells and attacks work the best allowing me to take on creatures 2-3 levels higher than I am with ease (which, of course, leads to higher xp rewards).

The world of new abilities and spells has been pretty desolate since the first "milestone" level is quickly approaching: 40. I've actually started conserving my money since I know I'll need around 100 gold to train and purchase my mount (a creature you can ride that let's you get around MUCH quicker). Before I would just build up some dough and then go hit the auction house to up my equipment. Now I'm seeing a smaller difference in the equipment specs between levels which allows me to hold on to my gear longer, saving me money.

After FINALLY completing Ashenvale I was kind of unsure where to move to next. There wasn't a real clear path to follow, which is fine and I ended up settling in Duskwood and quickly moving on to Stranglethorn Vale. This jungle-themed area is probably my favorite one so far. It's filled with level 30-40ish creatures and a ton of quests. I'm getting great xp and having some fun on the quests. SV is a great example of how well this game was designed to guide you along, make it interesting and keep it challenging.

Today I ran through the entire "The Missing Diplomat" quest line and here's a video of the final fight:

Even though I don't play PC games, and have almost zero interest in MMO games, I'm kinda considering picking up World of Warcraft just so I have some kind of actual knowledge of it. Circuit City has it for $10 this week, so I might nab it and at least dabble a bit for the first month.

If I pick it up, I'll be expecting you guys to learn me about Azeroth. smilies/wink.gif

Hailea advises me that after 2.0 the cost of a mount and training has dropped drastically. No idea what it actually is, though.
