My favorite TV show (possibly favorite sci-fi show ever) is making it's way to Xbox Live and the PC. NBC and Sierra Online are working on a gameset in the Battlestar Galactica universe that will be an "intense space combat" game that is both single and multiplayer, allowing people to play as either human or Cylon. Said Bill Kispert (VP of interactive at NBC Universial), "this game will put players in a first-person perspective, allowing them to experience the world of the show by piloting Vipers and Cylon Raiders." Most of the fighting will take place during the 1st 2 seasons of the show, with more missions and battles to round out the game. The digital distribution model of both the Xbox Live service and the PC will allow the game to be augmented as time goes on, almost making it an episodic type of game. My extraordinary excitement is tempered by my knowledge of past licenses ruined in the translation from screen to game (see Star Wars: Galaxies, anything made by Acclaim). Ahh who am I kidding, I'm beyond excited to get my hands on this game. If you watch Battlestar, head on over to our forums and join the discussion!
