Attention BBPS-Heads: This is a public service announcement brought to you by Best Buy...

Have you ever purchased a game, opened the packaging and discovered a shiny new plastic circle within?  Where do you place this disc-like item? Toaster? Delicious Pita Bread?  Close!  But don't worry dummy! Best Buy has you covered with their all new service, "CD Insertion Technical Support!" Now you can pay us to show you where to stick it!

Hilarious sight from the field at my local Best Buy, readers!  Who knows... Maybe they are charging $25/hr to teach customers how to place a disc inside the PlayStation 3... maybe it's to walk us step-by-glorious-step on clicking the install option in the game's main menu.

Hey it's a tough process, lord knows I brown-bag lunch my game inserting sessions.

The good news is if anyone is special enough to pay for Best Buy's insulting CD Inserting Service, it's a safe bet they won't be able to figure out procreation.

[...] Surely this is a joke. Surely no one would pay to have their Playstation 3 game “installed,” would they? Surely this is just some guys on the Geek Squad having fun! [...]

Wow. That's pretty funny - even if it was just done as a practical joke by some teenager working there. Worth a laugh, that's for sure!

What probably happened is the case used to be used for actual PC products, which they will install, and then time came to lock up the PS3 games and that case was one of the few empties in the store.

ya, i used to work at best buy, we just had a big cardboard box in back filled with plastic cases, theyre used for everything that might need one, not just games. camera memory cards, pro duo cards, small devices, computer software like firewalls, virus protection, stuff like that, and once the sticker's on...its damn hard to get off. wow, im not so sure about this site anymore, the wiina thing was fine, but jeez, lets think about things before we post em eh?

Not sure about the site? Not sure what that means exactly...

When we got some important clarifications from Mr. Hower we updated the story accordingly.... and pointing out the stupidity of Best Buy's "up-sells" are always good for a laugh... (would like to buy an extended warranty for that land-line telephone?)

something tells me if I wanted to pay Geek Squad to install a game for me they'd happily take my money.
