Often times during the course of a day various staffies here at the site hit each other up in Gmail Chat to various levels of awesome. The following is a full transcript account of an exchange that took place between Dan and I yesterday. What you read was typed with our very own fingers exactly as it happened. Kevin: Didja see this: [Guitar Hero: On Tour Joystiq story]? Dan: looks ridiculous to me Kevin: I think it's actually pretty cool Portable Guitar Hero that might actually work? That's pretty appealing. That shits going to sell like bagels Dan: I dunno, will you be able to see the screen well enough? Kevin: Maybe they'll have a way to rotate it depending on how you want to hold it. Dan: seems like it's a means to an end. Someone said "we NEED this on the DS" and this is the best they could do plus... Guitar Hero sucks Kevin: Well, yeah. Out hatred of GHIII was well documented Will this be Lefty compatible? Dan: doubtful The DS is taking the Wii approach to goofy add-ons
Kevin: I guess by some of our reader's accounts and beliefs GHIII on the Wii is like the worst thing ever. Dan: hellspawn Kevin: I'll be very curious to see how it plays. Hopefully there will be a demo outfit at Gamestop or something. My gut says that this is just a continuation of Activision's plans to completely suck all the life out of the Guitar Hero franchise. Dan: might be worthwhile Kevin: The other part of me is very hopeful that this wiill be fun. Dan: so have I told you how I plan to commit suicide if Guitar Hero gets the Beatles and not Rock Band? Kevin: No, did I tell you how I almost did while watching Across The Universe? Dan: that ain't rock bands fault Kevin: I can't seriously see The Beatles being in Guitar Hero before Rock Band. Dan: and seriously.. they're called the Fab Four... how can they sully that but associating it with GH? Kevin: Their most guitar heavy songs were played by Clapton Dan: very true Kevin: There's more money to be made by going with Rock Band, the way I see it. Dan: If they deny Rock Band the Beatles they might as well put Led Zepplin in Jam Sessions and call it a day Kevin: Harmonix has been faithful to their promise of releasing new content every week. lol What a wasted opportunity Jam Sessions was. They ruined it by leaving out simple Game Design 101 shit too. You know what would be the biggest selling title ever? Dan: That "game" had more than a few problems Rock Band: Beatles Vs. Stones Kevin: WoW DS Dan: you ain't lying Actually, WoW on your cell phone Kevin: We need to email Blizzard I won't be playing any games on this new cell. The d pad is WAY too small. There's been talks of a cell phone WoW. I don't think we'll see it leave the PC. Wait, what if they made it so you could access the auction house on your cell phone? Like a WoW add on? Be able to schedule raids and handle guild shit through your phone. That would be the hawtness I'd probably have to up my plan if they came out with something like that. Dan: something along the lines of "unlimited" Kevin: Probably Did you see that there are actually going to be three XBLA games with Fable 2? Dan: yea, not to sure how I feel bout that... seems like they're taking advantage Kevin: I still really like that idea of extending the experience. Sure, it's a way for them to make more money, but it's a way that's at least interesting that no one's thought of before. Dan: maybe, or a way to sell sub-standard XBLA games Kevin: They're being made by Carbonated of Uno and Catan fame. I believe a decent amount of time was spent in both of those games between the two of us. Dan: no doubt, but it remains to be seen how well they're do with these I like Sierra Games too but their Battlestar Galactica game was shite Kevin: True So we having a season 4 premiere party? It's the same day that I settle, but that'll be over by noon. Dan: either premiere or finale Kevin: Why can't we do both? Dan: true Kevin: We'd probably host one, but I don't know if everyone will be able to stomach my measely 40" TV. Dan: we can all just sit nice and close like round a campfire albiet a small one Kevin: And sing the old Cylon songs. Dan: :P Kevin: Whatever, at least it's not my 27" CRT
