Coca-Cola GTA commercial

A suprisingly inventive and funny commercial that's inspired heavily by Grand Theft Auto. It certainly appeals to a specific demographic, since most non-gamers would completely miss the point. With all the negativity surrounding GTA these days, I give them credit for coming any where near the subject matter

coke is always behind the curve wih regards to whatever is happening in the real world culturally. by the time coke decides to bite off a particular vibe it's already over and on to something new.

though this nod to GTA is nice, it's not going to translate into increased sales of coke.

coke has no relevance.

Cool commercial.

When a big company borrows a pop culture reference, I know it's easy to say "Hrg! They're teh p0zurs!", and I'm sure to the cheers of all social bashing anti-fanboys, but to claim with a straight face that an established market leader has no relevance... please.

If you're in the position where your product's name is a household name worldwide, there is no appreciable room for "increase of sales" until we begin selling to our interstellar visitors (if such ever appear). Maintenance of sales is the name of the game, and Coke has proved very good at that. There have been dozens, if not hundreds, of products that hoped to dismount Coke, and interestingly enough the closest anyone has ever come to doing so was Coke itself with the failed "New Coke".

While it may not be your personal favorite fizzy beverage, to marginalize their market position as "not relevant" shows a peculiar and astute short-sightedne ss.

I like the commercial. sure, it's about 5 years late, but better late than never. Maybe they had this idea a while ago and just waited until the hype died down so they could chuck out their positive spin on it? Who knows. What I do know is that the more video game related anything there is out there, the better. Especially when it is a giant company like Coke. A product that reaches into every household in the world marketing a video game friendly commercial can only be good. And just a little side fact, thanks to the History Channel, I am now aware that the second most popular word in the world is "Coke"; the first being "okay." Cheers

On the idea from Greshkov about perhaps they had this idea for awhile now.. maybe a reason they held onto this one is because of the whole hotcoffee issue a little while back. It was a big thing, you might of heard of it.

I just like the ad. Heck anything that doesn't make me want to hunt down and choke the #$%# who made it gets my tumbs up.

This commercial is very cool!

And is not so late!!! If it was made in the time that GTA was release, at 5 year ago, most of the public (more than now) was gonna missed the point!!!!

Chears from Brazil!
Bye!

Coke vs. GTA

Don't let anyone tell you advertising is not an art form. This GTA inspired ad actually makes me want to drink coke.

If you know Grand Theft Auto III...

Just as flight simulators free us from the laws of gravity, if only in our imagination, GTA III gives us a universe in which we are unshackled by the laws of morality. The first time you run someone over in GTA III, and realize that there are no cons...
