I'm embarrassed to admit I've still never played Diablo II. Loved the first one when it came out, but wasn't really playing PC stuff when II hit. When I finally had a system that could run it I'd moved on to other stuff. One of these days I'm really going to have to pick that up.

Mind you, I played the shit out of Dungeon Siege. Close enough?

As I said to a friend earlier today, I don't get excited when Blizzard announces new games. I get excited when they announce release dates smilies/smiley.gif

@Jim Squires: Dungeon Siege can't hold a candle to Diablo II IMO. I don't know how many hours I've put into it but it must be in the thousands by now. I can only imagine how DIII is going to rule my life.

Hey Jim, I've never played Diablo either!

We should play it together.

In 2011, when it comes out.

Man, did not see that coming. I figured SC II would hit before they made even the slightest announcement on the next Diablo. Unfortunately, I could never really get into Diablo. I've owned both the first and the second, but they just don't hold my interest. I'd still like to see what they come up with this time around, though. Also very cool that they're planning a worldwide release on both Mac and PC simultaneously. That's a lofty goal for a publisher.

Don't feel alone, Jim- I never played Diablo II either. Honestly, WoW is the first RPG of any type that I have ever seriously played, and if it weren't for the social aspects of the game, I probably wouldn't play WoW at all.

I think as a writing staff we FAIL. I have never played Diablo either, which means as far as staff goes (so far) Kevin is the only one to have played it.

Now if anyone needs me I'll be playing Monkey Island

How the FUCK has anybody not played Diablo II?! It's only like, $20 for the battlechest right now. Go and buy it and try to discover the awesome simplicity of it.

Really, I'm glad that this just looks like a graphical update. Diablo doesn't need anything else! Just click, click, click, die. That's it.

I'm going to go play Diablo II now until Diablo III hits. Look for me in the obits.
