Last year Disney was running this little promotion where you could bring your DS to the park and download some Pirates of the Caribbean bonus stuff to your handheld right outside the ride of the same name. While my old lady and I were on vacation there last year I was certainly tempted to bring my DS into the park to check it out, but decided against it since I figured it wasn't worth the bonus stuff (not to mention I didn't have a copy of the game and wasn't about to buy it).

Well now it seems like they're actually working on a legitimately good reason to bring your DS to the parks (and not just to kill time while waiting in line). It appears that the rumors that surfaced last week were true, that they are working on we'll call DisneyDS... a virtual tour guide of sorts to the park.

Utilizing the touch screen you'll be able to find character locations, rides, etc. The real bonus here is being able to see line lengths and it's apparent use of real time GPS so you'll always know exactly where you are.

If only they'd find a way to integrate the Disney fastpasses, so you could enter times of when you need to be at what ride when. Trust me, there's an art form to maximizing those fastpasses...
