David Pea of Universal Designs and the HAZE Suit

Today's feature interview is with David Pea of Universal Designs. UD is responsible for creating some of the most authentic replica costumes ever seen from the suits of Batman Begins, the demon from Legend and a Spawn replica so authentic the original designers could only tell the difference up-close. While roaming through the Con one suit at the Universal Designs booth caught my eye; featured at their booth was the full body armor of a Mantel soldier from the upcoming PlayStation 3 UbiSoft game, Haze.

In our interview with David, the sculpting master describes how UbiSoft contacted Universal Designs to create the suit from three images in a fraction of the time normally needed for a project this large.
