Finally, a proper sequel to Kung Fu

Kung Fu holds a special place in my heart. It was the second NES game I had (my system came with Hogan's Alley - no SMB for me!) and when I was 7, it was the shit. I must've played that thing for countless days. If that music was available as a ringtone, I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

Now courtesy of a indie coder with a love for the punch/kick combo, a killer-looking sequel is in the makes. No word on how long it'll take to see completion but what you see above came together in less than a month. Hopefully we'll see a full release banged out by Christmas. That way the stack of $60 games Santa brings you can gather dust as you punch-kick your way to Mr. X.

Some of you might remember the utter disappointment that oozed out of me after playing the Vigilante, the pseudo-official sequel to Kung Fu. It was made by the same developers, shared the same gameplay mechanics, and played like a broken trout. That bag of trash only makes me more excited for Kung Fu II.
