Finally! A (video) reason to own a PSP!

Now before you get upset, make sure you read the headline carefully. I've been a fan of the PSP game catalog for a bit now, but until now the video capabilities have FAR outpaced the reality. Between a stupid new format (UMD) and a non-existent video d/l service, it hasn't been easy to enjoy movies on that fantastic widescreen. Well, that's about to change.

Starting sometime this year, you're going to be able to send that Blu-Ray movie to your PSP. Obviously for size (and probably DRM) reasons it'll be a lower-rez version of the movie... but at least it's something. As a bonus, there's no extra fee or silly expiration date. Though something tells me if you outputted that PSP-ified movie back out to a TV it would look like ass. But still, this IS cool.

Oh, and the theory goes that this lower-res movie would work on Zunes, ipods, etc.

I like the PSP but none of these techy features really interest me at all. I'm much more interested in the software than the camera, gps, etc.
