Last night I found myself with the urge to play some flash games, so I set out on a quest to find some good ones. After spending some time searching the interwebs for the best of the best, I can say I've discovered some good (and not so good) games that you, dear reader, might enjoy. What follows is my take on one of my favorites Flash games so far; this isn't so much a review, it's more of a 'you should definitely check this game out' kind of thing. Pandemic II, Dark Realm Studios This game has a bit of a steep learning curve, but once you know the rules and find your way around the interface this game is a lot of fun. You play as either a Virus, Parasite, or Bacteria and your goal is to destroy humanity, and what's better than a little human extinction to liven up a boring afternoon? Once you choose between the three options you name your disease (I named mine the T-Virus because I'm a total nerd) and are given a map of the world.

From here you evolve your disease, trying to infect as much of the population as you can before countries start closing borders and creating vaccines. Once our disease gains notoriety countries will start fighting the infection by closing airports, shipyards, schools, and borders (the country's boundaries, not the book store). Eventually, countries will begin developing a vaccine, and once that happens you have a certain amount of time (time varies depending on how many hospitals are left) to up your disease's resistance to drugs, infect as many people you can, and hope the vaccine doesn't fails. I'm not sure if it was when I took down the last hospital, or when I completely wiped out an entire country's population, or maybe it was when I found hoping the vaccine would be a dud that I realized how messed up I am. Perhaps in another life I tried to take over the world with an army of robots, because apparently, it's what I'm good at. In under twenty minutes I had half the world's population six feet under, and there were no signs of my disease stopping. Once the final hospital was shut down, the vaccine stopped developing, so nothing stood in my way. I would've won the game if it weren't for Madagascar...
This game is fun, original, and slightly disturbing. I didn't realize how disturbing it was until I told my friends how close I came to exterminating all of mankind. My friends had concerned looks on their faces when I told them I had wiped out 98% of the human race. I would've had the entire world if Madagascar hadn't closed their borders so soon, but I'll be back, oh yes. I'll be back, and this time I'm coming for you Madagascar... *Insert maniacal laughter here*.
