Here we are, our 1st Guitar Hero post of the day. At least we managed to wait until after lunch.

In the latest issue of EGM, the magazine says that Guitar Hero: 1980s Edition for the PS2 is in production and will ship sometime in the Spring. No word on anything specific yet, but how much do you wanna bet that the songs in the PS2's 80's edition will come out as downloadable songs on the 360 at the same time?

Originally, I figured the songs from Guitar Hero I would be the downloadable content (that or unsigned bands). But now I'm going to guess that this new song pack will be sold as a standalone game for the Playstation and through the marketplace for the 360. At least I hope so, since I plan on selling my Guitar Hero games and guitars to buy it for the 360 in March.

Stryper, Poison, Cinderella, Ratt, Whitesnake FTW!

Dude, there's literally a tear in my eye from the tremendous amount of joy this news brings me. I'm having convulting nerdgasms here. No shit. This is the music of my youth. While everyone else was listening to Madonna and The Bangles I was rocking out to Poison, Motley Crue, EUROPE, and Guns N' Roses. This would be enough for me to keep my PS2 version of the game if these songs didn't hit the 360 as well. My excitement for Assassin's Creed and Halo 3 just plummeted to make room for anticipating this game. I can tell you right now this will be my game of the year, there's no hope for anything else to even hold a candle to this one. Oh. My. God.
