Got a blank disc? Then you have half of what you need to make your own Guitar Hero 3 demo disc

The other thing you need is this file. Burn it to a CD/DVD, pop it in the 360, and bam! 5 song GH3 demo is full effect.

No need to pick up Tony Hawk #whatever or the latest issue of Xbox something-or-other magazine. Next time do everyone a favor and just put it on the damn marketplace... k?

Is it legal? dunno. But Joystiq's posting it so I'm just gonna follow their lead. So go download the file, burn it to a CD/DVD (I used a CD) and pop it in the 360. The demo will show up under the "demos and more" section. You'll get to play the following songs:

  • "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" – Pat Benetar

  • "Lay Down" – Priestess

  • "Even Flow" – Pearl Jam

  • "Rock You Like a Hurricane" – Scorpions

  • "The Metal" by Tenacious D

Burned to a CD using Nero, and although it loads slowly, it plays perfectly! After you put the disc in, go to "Demos & More" on the Games blade and the GH3 demo should show up. The 360 will detect the disc as a "Mixed Media Disc."

Hmm, I think my previous post got stuck in the system- anyway, worked perfectly for me. Burned to a CD using Nero, popped disc in drive. Disc shows up as a "Mixed Media Disc," so go over to the "Demos & More" section of the Games blade, and the GHIII demo should show up there.

It does take a long time to load, I actually thought my machine might've locked up... but it eventually went through.
