GTA IV vs. Koyaanisqatsi

After being reminded by Greshkov in our GTA IV trailer posting from yesterday, that music in the background IS the Phillip Glass score from the movie Koyaanisqatsi (think "Inconvienent Truth" with no talking combined with that new BBC special "Planet Earth").

It got me to thinking if they're similar in any other way besides just with music. And lo and behold, about a quarter of the way into the trailer for GTA IV it really does take on alot of the themes and vibes of the movie trailer. So here for your comparison are clips of the movie and the game.

First the movie:

...and the game.

God damn that's cool. I used to own Koyaanisqatsi on DVD, so I've got to admit, I'm quite pleased with how the GTA IV trailer turned out. Definitely a wicked homage.
