Halo 2, maybe one of the most intuitive, most appreciated, most obsessive games to have ever hit XBL, but what ruined the experience for some hardcore gamers? I'll tell ya' what! It was the 12-16 year old stereotypical annoying geek voice that you were forced to listen to at all times. "MEARH I'm gunna' get the energy sword, cover me!" These words used to ring through my cranium as I lay to rest at night, and boy did I want to physically hurt these guys children.Well Bungie has developed an added feature the next chapter of Halo to limit this nuisance. With the use of the "Back" button combined with the scroll of the right thumbstick, you can quickly, and easily, select any gamertag that has been constantly badgering you, and simply mute him and only him. Much easier than going to the 360 menu and selecting him amongst all others to mute. So does this mean that Halo 3 is idiot proof? Far from it, find out my opinions, now!
So now we know how to limit the ever agitating voices, but does this make the game better? IMO, no, it does not! This makes the game less fun. Although I told you my thoughts about how I feel playing with these X-Factors, I do believe without these people, so long as there not cheating, the game isn't nearly as much fun as it is when they are there. What's more satisfying then sticking a yapper in the face with a plasma? Answer: NOTHING! Also, without these people, who would we make fun of? And finally, my biggest problem with this so called "A-hole Button", is you will feel left out. If you have ever played a party mode in which you and another member just can't find the bandwidth, it is annoying as hell to listen to your teammates talking about something, and you don't know WTF is going on. So thank you, Bungie, but no thanks, I most likely will not be taking advantage of this feature but it was the thought that counts! [Source : Bungie.net]
