Halo Heroclix sets new bar for craziness

I'm not sure how I missed this little beauty last week, but at the San Diego Comic-Con WizKids unveiled the largest heroclix figure they're ever done... and it's a battle damaged Scarab walker from Halo. This thing clocks in at 2 feet by 2 feet and cost $250! And that's only if you won the right to buy it by having a ticket drawing at the convention!

Wizkids has made some huge heroclix figures in the past (Galactus, Sprectre and Fing Fang Foom come to mind) but this looks downright silly. This'll be one of those pieces that like one kid in the neighborhood has, kinda like the G.I. Joe USS Flagg Aircraft Carrier from when we were kids.

The Scarab is no doubt cool, though let's be serious, the Flagg would kick this things ass any day of the week.

I saw the presentation where they premiered it at the Con. From the sounds of things, toys have become much more interactive since my days of playing with Duke and Cobra Commander figurines when I was a kid. They were actually talking about PvP play with these Heroclix things. Not sure how it all works, but it actually sounds pretty neat. Although I doubt I'll be dropping $250 on a toy for my son anytime soon.

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be PvPing with a $250 model.
