Halo weapons made out of cardboard define "extreme nerdery"

Ok look here's the deal. This video potentially has the new "Star Wars Kid" in it. But I think he manages to move past the utter nerdiness of what he's doing because it really seems like he's got a talent. If this kid is this good at modeling crap out of cardboard just wait till he gets his hands on Maya or some AutoCad program. It's hard not to laugh when he starts tea-bagging while wearing a Master-Chief uniform made out of tape while holding a cardboard battle rifle.... or hell who am I kidding it's impossible not to laugh.

But something tells me this geek is going to do some cool shit in a few years and he'll get the last laugh. Until then, however...

You totally nailed the analysis of this kid. You're right; he's going to do some crazy-awesome stuff in the future (Nightmare Armor should start a "go-getters" recruiting program smilies/tongue.gif), but until that happens he's going to get the ridicule piled on.

My first thought in starting the video (without reading the post first) was "It's finally happened! The new Star Wars Kid! It's... it's... Halo Kid!". The problem is that after you watch the first two minutes or so, you start to realize that this kid is actually quite skilled. Not only did he replicate the weapons as flawlessly as one can out of cardboard, he acted out every animation (reload, movement, etc.) almost /exactly/ as it happens in the game. He's clearly not a complete fanboy either; he made fun of the game as much as it appeared he praised it (the reload "animation" for duel-wielded SMG and pistol is a clear example). What's more, he acknowledged the fact that his recreations were basically just concepts. He was tossing them around as if they didn't mean all that much to him, and pointed out things that could be done with a more robust material.

The fun in Star Wars Kid was that he was clearly unskilled and rabidly fanboyish. There's none of that here. As much as I hate to say it, this is no "Halo Kid".

How do who know that his parents didn't make this stuff for him to keep him busy in the basement?

If he did make this stuff...can you say Colombine II? Also, I've often wondered if these "Halo Kids" even know what T-bagging is and how gay it would be to T-Bag another guy.
