Yesterday morning was one of the best days I've ever had by waking up at 8AM. While catching up on the internets, my best pal called me up and tipped me off to a box of electronic goodies across the neighborhood, just waiting to be picked up by the garbage man. I hopped out of bed and raced across Fort Greene to beat any surprise hipsters or routine garbage men to the loot, and successfully scored a Colecovision and Atari VCS with tons of controllers, games, and manuals. My tiny nerd heart just about exploded with happiness. Keep on reading to see my candid "unboxing" video and witness how much "geek-glee" was going on for being that early in the morning.

That's an awesome haul there. I've spent some time to put together some of that stuff. The catalogs are FANTASTIC. I love the old artwork, nothing like it.
The Super Action Controllers for the Coleco have a spot on the keypad for different game overlays, though the only ones I ever had were for some baseball game.

Wow, I can't believe the condition of that stuff. I am glad you beat those surprise hipsters. I want to know the story of how it ended up in the trash...ignorant mom throwing "junk" away?

Man, that is absolutely, positively AWESOME. I am living vicariously through your find, since a family member gave away all my Coleco stuff years ago, along with like 50 games. I have never gotten over that.
Congratulations. That's just marvelous.

The chart are the game types or variations. So like you select game 3 then you look at 3 and everywhere in the column that a colored sqaure appears is one of the variations of that game.
For instance in like Space Invaders, one of the "variations" was moving shields, or zig-zag shots, etc. No room for text in 2k rom carts, just numbers!
