Official response WILL be coming from Hudson on the 800 point R-Type release

My days seem chalked full of Hudson lately. Moments after posting my gripes about Dungeon Explorer not hitting the VC as planned, I stumble across this little gem on the Hudson boards that was posted by Hudson staffer John Master Lee;

Boy, how quickly a company falls from grace, all because of 2 bucks. I wonder if this is how the Mayan empire fell. Considering it's the holidays, and most everyone at Hudson is on vacation, the forums are not actively staffed during this time frame. No one is going into hiding. They are merely passed out drunk at their grandma's house from eggnog. In fact, I'm on vacation myself right now, just happen to be checking out this site, as I awaken from a slightly drunken state.

Sorry to disappoint. But ya'll are going to have to wait some more for an official word, once everyone is back alive in the new year. I'm sure you can hang in there. The sun will still come out tomorrow. Perhaps the extra $2 is enough to change a person's buying pattern. For now, you'll have to make the decision whether it's worth forgoing an 1/2 cup of latte from Starbucks, or that Akon ringtone (Smack that!) for R-Type.

So how about we go back to some holiday cheer? I'm reloading on eggnog as we speak.

Speculation time! I say that Hudson was planning on making VC games 800 points going forward (hence the snarky "you'll have to make the decision whether it's worth forgoing an 1/2 cup of latte from Starbucks" comment) but the backlash they're feeling means they haven't decided what to do about it ("Perhaps the extra $2 is enough to change a person's buying pattern.") Since they haven't had time to make a decision and/or statement on the subject, they've had to hold Dungeon Explorer back another week (because if they release it now, it'll be a heavy indication of what they're pricing structure will be going forward.) End speculation.

It should be released for 600 Wii points, because here in Europe, Dungeon Explorer has been on the Shop Channel for weeks, for 600 Wii points, to the best of my knowledge.
