Ideas for a Rap version of Rock Band?

Over on MTV's Multiplayer there was an interesting discussion of how genre's of music like rap/hio-hop could be made into a decent game... or at least integrated into games like Rock Band.

Well in the comments someone pointed to this music video from DJ Format that basically takes place in an arcade at a Karaoke/Dance Dance Revolution type game. While it's all make believe, it does actually offer a few ways that such a game could be pulled off. The video ain't new, so you might've seen it already... but it's new to me.

I actually enjoy that style of music (with some exceptions of course). I wouldn't buy a free style vocals game with it but if it was DDR style just within that genre I would definitely snatch it up.

Ignoring ignorant anti-hip hop comments (after all, I *make* it, hit the link for some sweet Generation Xbox hip hop), I've been thinking about 'Hip Hop Hero' for a while, and with the new word-recognition features in Rock Band, it's closer to reality.

Like any genre of music, there's "good" and "bad" versions of it.

That said, I would totally snatch up a "Hip Hop Hero" game.
