Halo 2 PCInitially scheduled to ship to stores today, the Games for Windows version of Halo 2 will finally see the light of day on May 22nd, two weeks from now. That means that Halo 2 for the PC will hit stores over two and a half years after the original Xbox version. According to Kotaku, the delay is due to complications with the streaming installation process (which allows you to start playing within two minutes), as well as other issues.

Is there really that much demand for a port of a last-gen console game? If anything, I'd expect PC gamers to be a bit insulted by it all. Not only are you getting the game long after its initial release (and just months before the Xbox 360 version of Halo 3), but those still running Windows XP will have to shell out at least another $100 to upgrade to Vista. You can get a used Xbox and the original release for roughly the same price as the PC version and the Vista Home Basic upgrade.

But, hey -- you get a map editor and Achievements. Love 'em.

this is really ridiculous, I have this tool bag of a geak in my C++ programming class that claims he will "pwn anyone in Halo2" when it is released on the PC

So maybe all the hardcore pc gamers out there dont really care that there getting a game from 2 years ago because in their eyes the PC will mkae it that much better.
