We all remember the infamous Florida attorney, Jack Thompson; despite the fact that he's someone we'd much rather forget, it seems Jack might be on his way back. For those of you who don't know much about Mr. Thompson, he is a very conservative Christian and anti-video-game activist and he's a bit... fanatical, in his beliefs. He's used various tragedies, namely the Heath and Columbine High School shootings, to get attention. It seemed that his reign of false terror was finally at an end when in 2008 he was permanently disbarred by the Florida Supreme Court. Like a bad movie villain, Jack Thompson is silently making his return. Recently, Utah passed a bill authored by Thompson that enforces stricter fines against game retailers and movie theaters that provide M or R rated products to minors. While this doesn't have much of an effect on the gaming industry, it does mean that even though he is disbarred, he still has some influence. And that in itself, is scary. I suppose that If Thompson does make his return it could provide a good basis for an M rated violent video game about Thompson's reign of terror that should definitely be sold to minors. Karma baby.
