Those Japanese Mario Bros. are back at it

mario_hoops_fireball.gifThere's a new 3-on-3 Mario basketball game coming out for the Nintendo DS. I played it at E3 and personally I thought the touch control was a little cumbersome. Of course it was set up for right-handers, whick made it even more difficult for me.

It seems, to me, it would've worked better had they just let me use the cross-pad and buttons, instead of the screen. Add to the the fact that I was never blown away by the last few Mario sports titles. The baseball was "meh" and the Soccer was fun, but not engaging enough to keep playing.

I had pretty much put it in the "do not buy" column. Then I see this Japanese commercial over at Destructoid, and I'm laughing enough that I've forgotten about the problems I had with the game. Hopefully I'll calm down and come to my senses before the game comes out.

YouTube Vids after the jump

I think it's the mustaches.

Also included is the earlier spot of theirs for Mario Kart DS that manages to be funny in 4 different languages!

Good Stuff.

Thanks for posting those clips -- they're hilarious! About the 3-on-3 basketball game: you have to use the stylus for that one?? That does sound pretty cumbersome. Guess I'll pass too.

You used the stylus at the demo at E3. I don't know if you're forced to in the retail version,
