Programmers aim to fix/complete Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2... Nice!

sithlord.jpgI was late getting on the KOTOR train (Knights of the Old Republic for those that don't know). It was only after my brother gave it a glowing review and it dropped in price did I get on board. After LOVING every second of the 1st one I dove head first into the second, having not heard about the complaints that plagued it's quick release. For the most part, I loved KOTOR 2 as well, right up until where the ending was supposed to go. Just like Halo 2 after it, they just chopped off stuff to get it out before the holidays, leaving us gamers with a less than full experience.

Like their site says, "if you're here you probably know that KOTOR2 had a lot of cut content, including some very important scenes near the end. If you didn't know: KOTOR2 had a lot of cut content, including some very important scenes near the end..."

On a side note I see this getting a whole lot worse on the next-gen systems, since they can just patch it later. But I digress.

So a group of Star Wars fans and programmers are going back and doing what LucasArts couldn't handle, completing Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: The Sith Lords. Unfortunatly for now it's only on the PC, but they're (and I) hoping for an Xbox fix down the line.

Keep track of Team Gizka's progress on their website here. They also have bits and pieces available to add back into your game now, scripts, and sound bytes. This is awesome stuff people, trust me.

Here's what they're trying to put back in:

We're adding back in as much of the cut content as is possible. We are dedicated to forming a coherent story out of these sound clips and occasionally-ambiguous action descriptions, so unfortunately, we cannot include every single cool thing that was cut. But, we will still have plenty of coolness, including:

-The long-lost HK Droid Factory! (not the same as the Droid Planet M4-78)

-Several ways to murder Visas!

-A whole new group of people who want to kill you!

-Multiple endings! (no, really, actual endings)

-Various ways to be responsible for the deaths of all your party members!
