take2store_1939_1397823.gifBy now you may or may not know that 2K Sports' Major League Baseball 2K7 hit the shelves today. To my surprise, went I went to my local EB Games to pick it up reserve-less, I almost had a problem. It's a good thing that I have been somewhat friendly with the shop attendant, for I may be the reason that someone with a reserve does not get their game today.

If you have any interest in this game I have only played 1 franchise mode game so far, well half of 1 game, but I have developed my opinion. Check out my review after the break!

So I'm "The Sports Guy" here at theBBPS and so therefore you BETTER respect my opinion, j/k! Well here goes...

For starters, I am a long time New York Mets fan, and no, I'm not just a fair weather fan, Ive been around since I can remember, sporting my Robin Ventura pinstripe jersey. On to the game. So the first thing I did was select franchise mode. Mets of course. I setup my lineup, which has the complete updated roster, at least for the Mets, all with correct numbering which normally irritates me.

Game 1 - NY Mets @ STL Cardinals - It took me 2 batters to get used to hitting, but once Carlos Beltran stepped up, I unlocked my first achievement - 450+ ft. Homer! Now as I previously stated, I only played half a game, but don't get angry at me, it wasn't due to a quit. In the middle of the 3rd inning it began to rain. As my team took the field, raindrops upon their hats, the umpires conferenced and put the game on rain delay. That's right, my video game was suffering a rain delay. The rain let up and we got in 2 more innings, I was still in the lead 1-0 and as I threw the 2 out payoff pitch in the dirt for strike 3, the umps conferenced once again, this time resulting in the game being called on a count of rain, once again, resulting in a season opener 1-0 victory for me.

Now I'm not one for making the game incredibly realistic, I like to be more entertained then impressed, hence my love for 2K Sports. Now this is thinking outside the box, back in my days of Mario Baseball on my Gameboy, I would have never imagined a day when my game would get rained out.

Another awesome feature was the use of batting practice uniforms, as well as those extras such as the Padres' Camouflage tops.

Besides that, the graphics are incredible as usual, gameplay is about the same as 2k6, and Joe Morgan is still giving us our color commentary. So far, the rain out is the only difference I have noticed but the game is definitely worth the money.

8.6/10
