Jungle Hunt coming to Sprint mobile phones... um, OK?

Jeez, talk about a blast from the past. Jungle Hunt hit the arcades 25 years ago, and back then it cost you .25 cents to play a game. Now? $1.99 a month or $5.99 for unlimited play. This is one of those nostalgia moments where you used to love the game back in the day, so you buy it and play it and think to yourself.... yep, that's Jungle Hunt. Then you put it away and move on.

LOS ANGELES - Oct.19, 2007 - Taito Corporation announced today that updated classic arcade game Jungle Hunt(tm) is now available on 30 different Sprint Nextel mobile phones including select models from LG, Motorola, Samsung and Sanyo.

Jungle Hunt debuted in arcades in 1982, and its vine- swinging action has since appeared on more than a dozen platforms. Outfitted in a pith helmet and safari suit, players navigate a jungle full of dangerous obstacles including crocodiles and falling rocks, all in an effort to rescue the heroine before she is eaten by cannibals.

"The simple, engaging gameplay of Jungle Hunt makes it a perfect fit for mobile," said said Keiji Fujita, producer of Jungle Hunt. "This rollicking adventure game is sure to please Spring Nextel users."

Jungle Hunt is available on the Sprint Nextel Digital Lounge storefront at $1.99 for a monthly subscription or $5.99 for unlimited use.
