I like Tower Defense games. I like them a lot. So a TD game for on the go is almost an instant winner to me. Creeps takes the tower defense formula, adds an attractive hand-drawn art style, and a lot to do for only $4.99. But is this game worth its asking price or is it just more shovelware?
First off, the art style of this game is great. Everything from the environments to the enemies has a vibrant hand-drawn style that instantly sets this game apart from the myriad of other tower defense games out there. The sound effects are great, each weapons sounds different and the enemies each have unique screams when they die (sounds messed up when I write it that way…)

The game isn’t light on content either: there’s a healthy variety of maps to play on, 16 in total that get progressively more difficult the father you get, and there are several enemy types that each have certain strengths and weaknesses. Some are fast but easy to kill, others are slow but have a lot of health, etc. There are also bosses that have quite a bit of health, so the best way to take them out is to have plenty of Glue defenses on the field. There are eight towers in all, glue towers slow enemies down, and there are also towers that shoot exploding boomerangs, laser beams, tornados, and much more.
This game also records your high scores so you can beat a friend’s score or the other way around, and that certainly extends the life of the game. If you like tower defense games, are a fan of Fieldrunners (also for the iPhone/iTouch), or are just looking for a simple and highly addictive game to play when on the go, The Creeps is the perfect game for you.
