More Guitar Hero II tracks coming to the 360. Did Red Octane listen to customer feedback?

To say some people were upset about the pricing & bundling of the downloadable tracks for the 360 would be an understatement. Not only were the songs priced at over 2 bucks a piece but they were bundled together in seemingly random packs of three, potentially forcing you to buy 2 more songs than you really wanted. We actually went on at length about it in an episode of our podcast.

Our verdict? That they could probably get away with one of the other without too much blowback, but not both. Either the pricing structure or the bundling structure, can't have both.

Well word is coming out that more tracks are on the way, though there's been no word on whether or not Red Octane has made any changes to their plans. Are these going to be more Guitar Hero 1 tracks? Or maybe tracks from the suck-fest that is the 80's edition playlist. Only time will tell. Here's the hoping they listened to the consumer and made some changes. It's a win/win... people will be happier and more people will buy your stuff.

It's such a shame because if people weren't so jaded after the last round of songs hit XBL we'd all be excited as hell to get these songs, instead of being leery of the whole thing. If Red Octane were just trying to squeeze a few extra pennies out of us last time I have to wonder if they still think it was worth the negative press it got them.

I actually bought one of the infamous original packs today and almost right away I hated myself for it...
