Morgan Webb Belittles Gamers on Tyra Banks Show

There is still a big part of the world that see gamers in terms of stereotypes; telling us games are for kids and to grow up. So when you have a mainstream show like "Tyra Banks' Show" that hosts a couple in which the guy happens to be a gamer, you would think that their "expert" would explain that video games are just a form of entertainment. A gamer is no different then say a movie buff. Now if the "expert" is X-play's Morgan Webb, you would think that being in the gaming industry would give her a insight. Sadly this was not the case, she put us all into video game stereotypes. Now I remember why I hate X-play.

I think the main reason why that whole segment was stupid is the text "on Tyra Banks Show."

The show probably called her up and asked if Webb could come up with a quick set of psych-bites to frame the problem.

It is bullshit as we all acknowledge.

This isn't about video games. This is about how women try to control men into being lap dogs. As long as you're upfront with a girl when you first meet her about how interested you are in video games, she should respect that and not try and interfer with it.

There is nothing wrong with saying to your wife or girlfriend that you would rather do something else than spend time with them. You can't/shouldn't spend every available second with the same person, you need interests and things for yourself. This is very important because if you give in to this nonsense now it only gets worse as the relationship goes on. This is a control issue plain and simple.

Someday you may buy a house and while she gets to decorate the whole thing the way she wants to, you feel happy with being allowed to have the basement to yourself for your "Man Cave". Or in five years when she hands you your allowance of $20 and you're on your knees scrubbing the bathroom floor thinking about scheduling your video game time you're going to ask yourself how this all happened. Remember this moment.

Suddenly Morgan Webb is a psychologist? I find her categories to be completely silly and unlikely. As far as the gamer widow, it might just be that he finds his GF boring. It doesn’t sound like she has taken the time to understand and get involved with his hobby any more than he prolly would about one of hers. Dude should kick her to the curb and find a gamer girl.

The problem clearly is that anyone takes Morgan seriously.

I blocked G4 from my cable box years ago.

Exactly Brisk! My wife knew well in advance that I love to play games and she's cool with it. In fact she buys me games! I hate when females treat men who like video games like they're children. They basically look down on us for enjoying a hobby! I think they're jealous about not having a hobby that they can really grasp. His chick probably sucks in bed.
