Jerry Bruckheimer's upcoming adaptation of Prince of Persia is well underway, and it looks like the casting process is almost over. Film site IESB.net has gotten their hands on the market research report regarding who to cast in the lead role, and it appears that David Zandi is far and away the favorite choice of the movie-going public, with a full 70% of those surveyed picking him as their number one choice. So who is David Zandi? In addition to being an actor, producer, male model, equestrian and former Wall Street analyst, David Zandi is -- you guessed it -- one of the last male heirs to Persia's Zand Dynasty. That's right -- he's a living, breathing Prince of Persia. Love or hate Bruckheimer, you've got to admit, that's one hell of a casting choice. Although given a choice between this and seeing Prince in Persia, I think I'd have to go with the latter. Purple Rain represent, yo. [IESB.net via Kotaku]
