Hot on the heels of Brain Age comes the new Nintendo DS release Big Brain Academy. Both games are the hottest thing in Japan so their merit and appeal are being tested stateside. Since both games track your progress as you exercise your brain I thought it might be interesting to keep a day-by-day diary of my experience with Big Brain Academy. The first time you use BBA you are tested in the different areas to give you a starting point. These areas are: Compute, Identify, Think, Memorize and Analyze. After my first trying round I scored highest in the Identify area followed by Think and the remaining three were about equal. This gave me a Brain Weight of 958g (the average weight is 1400g) and a grade of C which the game told me is the equivalent of a fashion stylist. I'm not entirely sure how to take that, but I plan on doing the test everyday to track my progress. Before I do the Brain Weight test each day I'll run myself through all 15 exercises and I'll try to track my progress in each one of those areas as well. Be sure to check back each day to see how I'm doing. If you'd like, leave some comments to brag about how much more your brain weighs!
