Need a HDD for your out-of-room Wii? Tough

reggie-gdc2005.jpgIt seems that's the official word coming out of the Nintendo camp anyways.

In a quote that can at best be called disappointing, at worst mind-numbingly aggravating... Nintendo has pretty much shut the door on the possibility of some relief from the puny 512mg internal memory the Wii is sporting now.

Excerpt from the interview:

CVG: "Is Nintendo considering releasing a hard drive to bolster the Wii's memory for all this new content?"

Nintendo: "No."

With the announcement of WiiWare, the service that will allow some original titles to be released over the Wii VC space is at even more of a premium for Wii owners. And as of now, the possibility of a USB hard drive to lighten the load seems to be nothing but a pipe dream.

That's Nintendo of Europe that was interviewed, and quite honestly, I don't think they have any clue what's really happening with the rest of the world. XP
