Not much doing this week.... at all. Though apparently there's a collector's edition of Spidey 3 for the PS3.... news to me. Classic Castlevania coming to the Wii VC at least, I'll be passing on everything this week. You?

I think Spiderman 3 will be getting a rent at some point. Anything to break this dry spell lately.

I had a chance to play a few of the versions of Spidey 3 at Activision HQ last month, and while I was reasonably impressed by the Xbox 360 and PS3 iterations, the Wii game definitely suffered (by comparison) due to its lack of visual prowess. And I wasn't even sure what was happening in the DS version half the time.

Andrew, in your opinion, did Spiderman 3 feel a lot better than the the previous ones?

I'd be lying if I said I spent a lot of time with Spider-Man 2, so I can't really make that comparison. From what I played, it seemed like it should be pretty familiar to fans of the last game, though there are a couple of improvements (the hot-cold meter) and enhancements (the comprehensive, on-the-grid sewer system). The battle engine definitely seemed expanded, and swinging around the city felt better than ever on the PS3/360.

That said, I spent only about an hour (in total) between those two versions, and the build was still far from complete. But if I had to speculate, I'd say those next-gen versions should be pretty good.
