Nintendo increases security on new DS carts? Hopefully.

jeti.jpgI have little pity for people that pirate games. So I'll admit it makes me smile to know that it seems Nintendo is taking steps to increase the security on their DS carts, making the usual dumping methods worthless. So far it looks like it's contained to one game, Jet Impulse.

While I'm sure this'll only really be a speedbump to the hacking elite out there, I suppose it's better than nothing. Though it is funny to read through this forum and listen to people complain about not being able to play these games off of flash cards. Boo-fucking-hoo.

Now region encoding on the other hand, that's something we can do without. (A lesson Nintendo and Sony SHOULD be learning with their non-region encoded handhelds). Now if only we could get the consoles to be region free.

PS3 is region free just like PSP. The only thing blocked are the Blu-ray movies.

Right.. and Jet Impulse is quite an excellent little game. Almost feels like Lynx's Blue Lightning of yore... Japanese manuals though, definitely don't help...

We must start hanging out with people who read & write Japanese methinks. Japanese preferably, but finding them in Greece would be quite a feat... Come sumer though... smilies/smiley.gif
