Nintendo presents: bit generations

dotstream.gifIf there were ever a series of games that would tug at the heart strings of this site, it would have to be the (what we consider) brilliantly named "bit generations". Leave it to Nintendo to create excitement with games called dotstream, sound voyager, and coloris. Could anyone else but them even get away with this? Wii Sports, Warioware, and now bit generations. Whatever, I'm sure it'll be addictive as all get out. Here's links to the gameplay trailer and Official site, in all their Japanezy goodness.

Youtube Video after the jump... (The link above is better quality)

I have to agree with you here: these games do look like they're going to be highly addictive! I think the last thing I need to do is buy one of these -- I'll never get anything done.

Sound Cock? Sure it has a rooster sound effect in it, but it still makes me giggle uncontrollably.

that comment sounds like spam, since I re-watched the clip and didn't hear any reference to a sound cock (with the japanese sometimes you can never be sure)

[...] When I first heard about Nintendo’s bit generations series being released in Japan, I was excited enough to blog about it. Well, I went even further and took the step of importing (at a little-to-high-a price) the very cool looking dotstream. Think linear tron light bike racing. It’s like a race version of REZ. Sound interesting? It is. [...]

[...] My importing of Nintendo’s bit generations titles continues! To those that don’t know, take a moment and look at my earlier post about Nintendo’s retro-esque titles. This time around I take a look at Orbital, which in a very basic sense is like Katamari Damacy in space. You start off as a tiny planet and bond and multiply with celestial bodies around the same size, growing with each new addition. (I’m not sure if you’re a star joining with other stars or as a planet joining with planets… So I’m calling them planets.) It all sounds very basic, but the game gets interesting when you talk about the controls. [...]
