Nintendo releases Mario Kart 64 with save glitch. Shrugs shoulders

mariokart1.jpgLAME!

Seems there no way to save ghost data in Mario Kart 64 for the Wii's Virtual Console.

Back in the day you needed the controller pak to get the job done. But since that no longer exists in the Wii, what should happen? Accoring to Nintendo, nothing. Nothing at all. Except to say something along the lines of We told you beforehand. Suck it.

What, did ya hire Sony's PR firm?

"Due to unavoidable technical reasons unfortunately it is not possible to save ghost data from Mario Kart 64's Time Trials in the Virtual Console version of the game,"

[We've] "placed messages advising users about this before they download the game both when the Wii Shop Channel is first accessed and in the More Details tab on the individual game page."

I passed on this game because it somehow doesn't have on-line support. So for me it's no deal breaker. But is it a big deal to anyone else? What about the trend it sets? Worrysome? Or should I just shut-up?

Doesn't bother me. I never really could get myself to like MK64.

Here's hoping it doesn't happen again.

This isn't really an issue. What IS an issue is that none of these VC games have online support, which is really really really really really lame.

Has Nintendo always had this "don't care" attitude or is it just a recent thing? Anytime I've contacted Nintendo Customer Service to ask a question I've received more or less "don't know, don't care" responses.
