Oblivion "Mehrunes Razor" expansion free for Christmas on Xbox Live

Know how the rumor was going around saying that Nintendo was giving away free Wii VC games for Christmas? It may not have been true, but Bethesda and Microsoft are giving gamers some marketplace content for free. Namely the Mehrunes Razor expansion pack for Oblivion. Granted it's not a full game or anything but any way you slice it (unless you already bought it) it's a good deal. So sayeth the press release:

We're pleased to announce that we've worked with the good folks at Xbox Live to give away one of our most popular downloads for Oblivion - Mehrunes Razor -for a limited period of time.

Starting this Friday, Dec. 22, Xbox 360 gamers will be able to download Mehrunes Razor for free from Xbox Live. This offer is only for a limited time...from Dec. 22 to Dec. 31. On Monday, Jan. 1 it will go back to its standard price.

So be sure to log on to Xbox Live beginning this Friday and download your free copy of Mehrunes Razor!

So one of the early offenders of the microtransaction has also become one of the heroes. From Horse Armor to a half-price expansion (the same content for Knights Of The Nine goes for $20 on the PC). Bravo Bethesda!
