PixelJunk Racers hits the Playstation Network on Thursday (hey wait, that's today!)

How could we NOT talk about a game that has pixel in the title??? Plus this racer has the feel of some "Ironman Ivan Stewart's" Super Off Road / Super Sprint vibe going on, and that kicks ass.

Of course I need to temper that and tell you this is a SLOT RACER GAME. Remember those? The little slot cars with played with when we were young? Lord knows how that translates to a video game but it's in 1080p and supports 7 player offline (the hell?)

Will I be getting this game? Maybe, cause I ain't got shit else to play on my PS3 until I get around to getting Heavenly Sword. No, I'm not buying Warhawk. No single player, no game. I'm really praying for a demo.

You know the drill, click 'em to see 'em all nice and big

I'm a sucker for this type of racer, but I don't have a PS3.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Super Sprint and Offroad. Wasted a TON of money in the arcades on those machines back in the day.

Just a heads up -- I was going to hop on the playstation store and see if it was up yet, but s system update (1.93) was forced on me, and it keeps crapping out a 4%. Anyone else having this problem?

a lot of ppl seem to have that problem, but then again, alot didnt have any problems (me included) but the update isnt JUST released smilies/smiley.gif so sadly it has nothing to do with pixeljunk racers. oh well, it will prolly be up in the next couple of hours (which means that i will be up all night, as i live in europe smilies/smiley.gif

just keep trying to get the update, and eventually it will download hehe

Played the demo. As the french would say, it "le sucked."

It's just slot car racing that lets you hop between tracks to pass. You can't even steer. It may be pretty, and using the trigger to like you would a slot car controller feels strikingly realistic, but it's still just slot cars.

I played it and bought it, thought it was pretty fun and there was enough variety to warrant a purchase.
