Play Fallout, right now, for free

No, I don't mean the upcoming hotly anticipated Fallout 3.  We're talking about the decade old classic that started it all. This past week GameTap made the original Fallout available on it's free service.  If you're in the same boat as me and have never played the original, you've got zero excuse now.

Just a sidenote, GameTap's free service is a really kick ass online tool that not too many people are using.  Not only does it offer arcade classics like Bubble Bobble and 1942, but it has some pretty solid recent titles like Tomb Raider: Legend and Hitman: Contracts.  Plus, online leaderboards kick ass -- who doesn't want to have the best Burgertime score in town?

Hop on over to their website, download the client, and get your Fallout on people!

I will one day own a Burgertime cabinet, or if I'm lucky a cocktail table.

My cocktail MAME cabinet offers 1942, Pac Man, Dig-Dug, Galaga, about 1000 other games, and has a 4-way joystick to boot. =)

Yeah, I though about buying a real Pac Man cocktail cabinet, but I'm not an electrical engineer, so keeping it up and running could be a pain. I built my cabinet to the same dimensions as a real Pac Man cabinet, except for the button layout (more buttons) and control panel width (1" wider to account for the additional buttons). Also, mine's actually stained oak-faced plywood, vice wood-grain contact paper that the originals use.
