Usually this isn't the type of news I'd be posting here, but it qualifies as retro nowadays and besides, it's without a doubt one of the most important arcade machines ever released. It brought fighting games to the masses and spawned an infinite number of imitators.
To have the opportunity to get my ass soundly kicked online will bring back memories of my younger days. Back when arcades didn't have any lights except for what the machines emitted. Where cigarette burns covered the cabinets, and a quarter was all you needed to have a chance to be a champion. Good Times. There's a list of achievements that Capcom's released over at racketboy.com along with more specific details. There's still no release date, the original date of June 10th has come and gone. But with the release of the achievements, along with a demo video floating around, leds one to believe that the wait is almost over. We've had a few arcade classics releasec for XBLA (Smash TV and Gauntlet) but this is one that changed videogames forever. Kids today will likely never really get to experience a true arcade, so this is probably the closest they'll get.
