Protect your PS3 from getting smokers cough

I didn't go to play-asia to find a Smoke & Nicotine filter for the Playstation 3, but that's exactly what I found. It's available for pre-order for the low, low price of $16.90. That may seem like alot, but are you prepared to put a price on the damage all that secondhand smoke will do to the poor little PS3's lungs?

How much do you have to smoke for this to be necessary? I mean I've been to houses where everyone smokes, and there's nothing more disgusting than seeing a yellow stained keyboard from smoking at the PC. But if you're sitting on the couch puffing away how much nicotine is getting in there?

Of course it also blocks out dust. But all that being said this thing HAS to restrict airflow, and is that really something you want to do on a machine like this? It's amazing the thing is as quiet as it is, would you really want to tempt fate and close those vents up even a little bit?

when the ps2 launched, we would get a defective system a week because someone had smoked it out. all vents would be covered with ash and the system cooks itself to death. even in the trey was disgusting. while the restriction of flow is an issue, i think it's safer than complete blockage.

Dan, as a tech, I have worked on the innards of PCs of smokers. Everything inside gets caked with tar... it's totally nasty. It can cause overheating too.

And to think I was a smoker for 6 years, thank god I quit.

What abot smoke from the Bong!!! I rip my Bong a few times a day as well as pass around the occasional blunt! Does this smoke casuse the same nasty effect on the Ps3 as Nicotine smoke? Thanks Ed
