Whatever you want to say about the PSP library, we can all agree on one thing... that the PS1 library rocks the house. Hmm, that didn't really convey the energy I wanted it to. Let's try it again. The PS1 library ROCKS THE HOUSE!!!!!!!11!!!1 (That's Better)

Though Sony has gone tit-for-tat with the PSP homebrewers shutting them down time and time again with system updates, right now the hackers have the upperhand. Once stuck at a lower system version in order to do what they wanted, things have really been moving along since then. Instead of waiting for all the PS1 titles users want on the PSP, the users are just gonna do it themselves.

Dark_Alex has a patch for the system 3.03 version that allows running PSX ISO files on the PSP. It's confusing, and not for the feint of heart since messing up will brick the old girl. But if you're adventurous (or know what you're doing) you too can be rocking Symphony of the Night or Vagrant Story (or any other PS1 game) on the go. Click here to check it all out (and download).

Like I said, it ain't easy, it also ain't legal, so proceed at your own peril.
