Sony's PR is literally killing me at this point

1st... Watch this video, or at least as much as you can stand. I lasted about 48 seconds, right up to where he says "fo' sheezy".

Typical crap fansite where some kids make a video about how much they want a PSP for Christmas? Seems like it. But turns out the domain is registered by an ad company that works for Sony. BOO ridiculous viral ad campaign!

Actually, you gotta see their "site". They like replacing the word "to" with "2" and other slang words your grandmother knows.

Like this gem:

"we started clowning with sum not-so-subtle hints to j's parents that a psp would be teh perfect gift. we created this site to spread the luv to those like j who want a psp!"

&

"our boy Cousin Pete 'rapped up these crazy beatz and rhymes & put them under our tree! much luv and thx, pete."

Is this serious?

Is Sony trying to get people to buy their product or not?

Hey Sony,

How bout you stop giving people money to make insanely retarded websites, and drop the price on your PSP. Then maybe, just maybe, more people will buy it and you won't get so pants-ed by DS.

PS. DROP THE PRICE ALREADY!!

Sincerely,
B

yo yo yo, did my peeps watch da whole video? that 'ish was tight!

The 200 price tag in the PSP is getting close to good, if they threw in one of their greatest hits games it'd be a good deal. Doesn't help that tool in the video though.

I was laughing so hard I almost couldn't breathe. I hope this doesn't catch on and become another internet meme. The last thing I need is someone rapping this to me when they see me playing my PSP.

Did you see the Dollar with the guys face on it?

It says, and I quote, "if all else fails…
you can always try to use this $249 bill to buy a psp entertainment pack for yourself. don't rlly try to use, though – if you do, you'll be playing it the next 5-10 years in cell block H!

Completely retarded.

Dear Sony,
This is f**king pathetic, make the product worth what you're asking for it and you won't have to use crap like this.

[...] Posted by Curtis on December 12th, 2006 Turns out that the couple of guys “rapping” about how all they want for Christmas is a PSP is really a poorly conceived PSP ad campaign! First, people noticed the site, All I want for Christmas is a PSP, and think that’s it’s genuine. We all laugh of the rapping hijinks and chalk it up as obsessed fanboy wackiness. Then, someone actually checks the domain name and voila, it’s owned by a PR Company. Yeah, for this whole viral ad thing to work, it helps if someone would actually spring for the domain privacy next time you launch a project like this for your client. Knowing that the site is fake adds a sort of humor to their blog. Watching how hard they seem to be trying to be cool is good for a chuckle or two. Cause planted wanna be viral ads badly trying to look legit is wiggity wiggity wiggity wack. Source: [BBPS] [...]
