I'm rough like a freight train smooth like ice and yo Jeff, straight up, I think I can beat Mike Tyson

1st things 1st. There's a rumor floating around of a new Punch-Out! game headed for the Wii. Apparently Nintendo filed to continue the trademark, leading some to believe that they have plans for it. This will no doubt bring good times to casa de Dan... as long as I'm still playing as Little Mac and I have Doc by my side.

Now onto the Virtual Console news. Before you get too excited, I'd better tell ya.... this isn't quite the version you want to see on the VC. See way back when Tyson was first losing his mind, he had a bit of a problem with the law. As such, he was dropped from the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! game and replaced by some schmoe named Mr. Dream. Putting the far-fetched idea of a white heavyweight champion aside, it tarnished the game a bit. Who's gonna brag to their friends that they beat Mr. Dream? Beating Tyson was where it was at.

So now the game is headed to the Virtual Console (woo-hoo!) but because of contract and legal issues, it seems like it's the version without Iron Mike.

Still excited?

Finally! Oh and I agree 0 with you Zuke about still wanting to use Mac with Doc in the corner. I was dissapointed by Super Punchout!! While a wonderful game, you didn't get to you Mac. What's the point of even making a Punch Out!! game without mac? They shouldve just called it "Some Dudes Boxing".

The gameplay was great and there were some insane battles, but I never cared if my guy was knocked out. I wouldn't even care if someone shot him in the face. Why do I say such cruel and sadistic things? Because he wasn't Mac, he didn't even train. Its like, who does this guy think he is? He doesn't train for his fights. And he thinks he's so good that he doesn't need to have a trainer. Why should I care for him and his pixelated bangs?

The words of wisdom that Mac received from Doc in between rounds was classic. Even when Mac face was destroyed and it looked like his eye fell out the socket, Doc kept telling you that you could still win, when knowing that he had already made funeral arrangements because no 17 year old kid can take a punch from Tyson. Well enough of my rambling, any word on a release date or month Dan?
